Melee is the most balanced class, Mage is also quite fun as well. Imo, Ranger is kind of boring, Rogue is gimmicky and unbalanced, and Summoner is insanely overpowered if you get the right accessories. i think ill go with mage because the items i saw during my first run that are magic related were amazingly fun to use.

However, I do recommend playing Thorium or Orchid mods, since they both add lots of enjoyable and unique classes. I can't commit to full playthroughs, I just use cheat sheet to give myself on tier items and have a boss rush. Thorium adds new classes, but they are too weak for calamity.
